Just 2 years ago, FLNG seemed like an interesting but impossible challenge. With the high imperative cost, risk and technical complexity of the concept, FLNG seemed like a far flung idea despite its lucrative cost savings to the LNG value chain.
Today, Shell has already inked its first FLNG vessel to develop their Prelude field, with its technology being evaluated for the Sunrise field.
In fact a recent market report states "stellar growth,” particularly in Asia. The report projects that FLNG expenditure will total $23 billion (£13.8 billion) between 2010 and 2016.
Being the pioneers to develop the first FLNG summit in Asia Pacific, we understand that in such a new field as FLNG, one of the areas which is critical now is bringing operators together to share real issues related to developing and actualizing FLNG.
As such, we are pleased to involve this year the operators like Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica and Hess Corporation who would be sharing real issues from an operator perspective on considerations for FLNG development.
Operator attendees would also be benefiting from the industry’s first field operator lunch and dialogue room to evaluate the viability of FLNG with the collective knowledge in the LNG community.
Join us now at the 5th FLNG Asia Pacific Summit (9 – 10 November, Seoul, Korea) to bring your FLNG plans one step further.
Don’t miss this industry led agenda shaped by industry advisors from Shell, KAIST, Samsung Heavy Industries, Emertec, Candaoil Engineering and John Kernaghan & Associates Ltd which will address and overcome collectively as an industry the most critical holdbacks for FLNG developments
